JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for seeking business development opportunities and generating revenue for SI Media through the sale of products and services to new customers. The primary function of this role is to identify the needs of a customer and provide an opportunity for those needs to be met through the purchase of SI Media's services.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

  1. Identifies prospects in new and existing clients
    • Develops and maintains a prospect list of new potential clients
    • Actively engages the business community to discuss Si Media and our offerings in the objective of sales.
    • Manages an ongoing sales and business marketing funnel
    • Receives incoming requests for proposal or work
    • Prioritises prospects, based on sense of opportunity and scope
  2. Generates leads
    • Develops leads from prospecting activities (presentations, whitepapers, marketing etc)
    • Builds long-term commercial relationships with potential new customers
    • Develops an understanding of the client’s business and the value we can add
    • Identifies and explore leads within potential customer base
    • Prioritises leads, based on sense of opportunity and scope
  3. Qualifies opportunities
    • Receives briefing from client
    • Clearly translates requirements into written Client Brief documents
    • Works with Account Management team to develop new ideas, creative strategies and campaigns that will benefit the client's business and meet their requirements
    • Outlines a draft solution to meet client needs
    • Classifies/confirms size of opportunity (small, medium, large)
    • Assesses the client's budget and the importance of the opportunity
    • Decides whether to proceed with opportunity
  4. Develops a strategy and scope for the opportunity
    • Works with EP and/or Producer to define top-level scope, quote and timeline for project
    • Ensures quote includes agreed profit margins and contingency
    • Works with Producer to confirm which technologies to use
    • If required, organises creative concepts for sales pitch
    • If required, writes and collates sales proposal
  5. Pitches and negotiates to close the deal
    • Presents pitch/proposal to the client
    • Communicates scope, quote, timings and assumptions to client
    • Negotiates details
    • Obtains signed-off client acceptance
    • Handover of project to the Account Management & Production team (project kick-off)

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field such as marketing, finance or communications.
  • 5+ years of experience in a sales or business development role for an agency or similar professional services company
  • An outstanding portfolio demonstrating successful generation of revenue
  • Knowledge in digital and online media including websites, social media applications, email marketing, and online advertising
  • Passionate about the digital industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation and sales skills; demonstrated ability to 'close the deal'
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal teams
  • Skills in decision making, time management, planning and organization
  • Self motivated and professional, with an impressive ability to network
  • Possesses quality customer service expertise
